Puchon Choice Jury (Feature)

Chung Chang Wha (Jury Chair)

As the pioneer of Korean action films, Chung began his career with <The Final Temptation>(1953) and has made more than 51 movies including 30 action films. He was the first Korean film director to enter the Hong Kong movie market with <The Temptress of a Thousand Faces> which became the first Hong Kong movie exported to Europe. Chung's <Five Fingers of Death>(1972) was also the first Hong Kong film exported to the United States, which at that time topped the box office charts.

Mick Garris

Mick GARRIS name gained recognition in the early 90s for directing <Sleepwalkers>, and he established himself after successfully brought horror/mystery pieces written by Clive Barger and Peter James to life on the screen. More recently, Garris produced <Master"s of Horror> and directed <Chocolate> and <Valerie on the Stairs>.

Sabrina Baracetti

Sabrina BARACETTI is a films expert who has written for a vast number of movie magazines on films and music and also hosts her own radio show. In 1995, Baracetti became the president of the Centro Espressioni Cinematografiche of Udine in 1995, and took part in the compilation of a movie encyclopedia led by Paolo Mereghetti in that same year. She has been president of the Udine Far East Film Festival since 1999.

Derek Elley

Derek ELLEY is the head film critic for Hollywood"s Variety and resides in London. As a journalist with great insight and deep understanding of Korean and Asian films, Elley plays an important role in introducing movies from Asia to the rest of the world. He was the first journalist from Variety to visit the Pyongyang International Film Festival last year and also writes monthly columns for the weekly movie magazine Cine21.

Sono Sion

Sono SION is well known to Korean movie fans for films such as <Strange Circus>, <Hazard>, Suicide Circle>. He debuted with his first independent film <I am Sono Sion!> and immediately gained recognition from those in the experimental film field which earned him his title the "screen poet" of Japan"s independent films. His movie <Noriko"s Dinner Table> won the audience award and best actress award at the tenth Puchon International Fantastic Film Festival.

Xie Fei (Jury Chair)

Currently a professor at the Beijing Film Academy, XEI Fei, is one of the fourth generation Chinese movie directors and runs the international short film festival in Beijing. Xei"s movies are all internationally well recognized, and his <A Girl from Hunan> (1986) was introduced at the Cannes International Film Festival, while < Black Snow> (1989) won the Silver Bear at the Berlin Film Festival

Nagai Go

Nagai Go is a leading manga artist in Japan, debuted in 1967 and won overwhelming popularity with <Shameless School> in 1968. 1972"s <Devilman> and <Cutey Honey> were made into animation films, and he opened a new horizon for robot manga with <Mazinger Z>. He debuted as a motion film director in 1989 and has been producing a stream of work for more than 40 years.

LEE Sung Gang

LEE Sung Gang is known for his animation work and warm and touching long-format animation pieces such as <My Beautiful Girl>(2001) and <Yobi, The Five-tailed Fox>(2006). His first picture film <Texture of Skin>(2005) was invited to various international film festivals. Lee is currently an animation professor at the Korean Academy of Film Arts since 2002.

Mario Dorminsky

Mario DORMINSKY is the very person who created Portugal"s first fantastic film festival, Fastasporto, in 1978, and played a crucial role in the birth of EFFFF. Dorminsky is the publisher of a movie magazine Estreia and has written a large number of books on movies. Dorminsky has sat on the jury for numerous international film festivals including the Cannes.

Guy Delmote

The creator of the Brussels International Festival of Fantastic Film, Guy DELMOTE put together a non-profit organization "PeyMey Diffusion" to publicize the band he played with as a drummer, and held the first Brussels International Fantastic Film Festival. With his older brother Georges DELMOTE, he created EFFFF with the original members from FantasPorto, Rome and Sitges.
